231: Why Fast Fashion is Toxic

Lady Journey

Show Notes Episode 231: Fast Fashion

On this week’s episode of Lady Journey Katie’s on a journey to become a “fashion vegan” and stop supporting the fast fashion industry. Join us for tips on eco consciousness!

Why is Fast Fashion Toxic?

Fast fashion is one of the biggest contributors to pollution. Cheap, synthetic materials are made from oil byproducts. Additionally industrial chemicals used in fast fashion often contaminate ground water in third world countries, which dramatically lowers the quality of life for the inhabitants. Most fashion ends up in landfill. Plus the cost of fast fashion is kept low by taking advantage of mostly female workers.
